News Letter **************************************************************************************************************************************************************** JJs News Letter for February 2008 By the Prez (Russ) Meeting called to order 6:30 Attendance: Russ, Sandra, Teeaira, Brent, Rick, Lisa, Sam, Gordon, Essie, Jay, Pete, Kendra, Lynn, Therese, and potential new member Nathaneil. Thank you to all!!! Treasures Report At this Time we have approximately $4,000.00 bucks in the bank. I would like to apologize to Faye and Lowel. I asked them for their help in planning something new for the barbeque for Summer Safari. In the last news letter it was applied that they would be doing the cooking and that is not true. But any suggestions or ideas that they have will be greatly appreciated since they have been doing this for many years.Note to Faye from Sandra. I did some research and the engine blow brought in a total (before the split) of $212 dollars.Thank you Faye & LowelApril Showers is coming up and it will be good to be back at the Cascade Mall. Rick will be contacting the Wizard of Ooz and getting a standard size porta pottie for use. Rick also made up the flyers and they were dispersed at the meeting. He is also in the process of getting Summer Safari flyers reading to print as we have some updates to make to them. Thanks for the work on these Rick! Russ and Jay are both searching the internet to find a pedal car for the show. Scott is taking care of the dash plaques for all three shows by ordering them from Bunny. Thanks Scott! We are going to have a sit in at the bakery across the street from Hometown Café on Saturday mornings for breakfast at 8 am. YES, Saturday MORNINGS so if you can’t make it this Saturday hopefully we will see you the next. We are looking for more suggestions for the club to do. Any and all ideas are appreciated. We are asking all members to take ACTION and help put some fun back into this club. You don’t have to wait for a meeting to bring up ideas. If you have a place that you would like to go to on a Rod Run PLAN, INITIATE, CALL and we will come. We are hoping to have a club phone book available to help members contact each other. We are already receiving reservations for Summer Safari 2008!!! If you plan to attend and have a favorite spot, you may want to get the word in before they get taken. Rumor has it that there are a couple of clubs coming and they will want to be located near each other. We are hoping for an exceptional turnout! We are also hoping for suggestions on the menu and activities for this event. Last year we had some great things going on and would like to improve. IDEAS IDEAS IDEAS Reminder: Dues are due. We have two more meetings to plan April Showers please come and give us your ideas. Next meeting will be at Hometown Café on March 10th at 6:30. Hope to see you there!
